I am just wondering

I understand the spawn greiving last season was done (against the rules) with lava.

Will we all be permanently punished for their crimes?

Most players use lava for trash bins, machines and making stone.

Will we ever get it back?

Unless server finds a solution to cobble monsters, it will be disabled

Geneva Convention, 1949:
Article 33: Individual responsibility, collective penalties, pillage and reprisals
No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.
Pillage is prohibited.
Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited."
Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, collective punishment is a war crime. By collective punishment, the drafters of the Geneva Conventions had in mind the reprisal killings of World War I and World War II. In the First World War, the Germans executed Belgian villagers in mass retribution for resistance activity during the Rape of Belgium. In World War II, both the Germans and the Japanese carried out a form of collective punishment to suppress resistance. Entire villages or towns or districts were held responsible for any resistance activity that occurred at those places.[5] The conventions, to counter this, reiterated the principle of individual responsibility. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Commentary to the conventions states that parties to a conflict often would resort to "intimidatory measures to terrorize the population" in hopes of preventing hostile acts, but such practices "strike at guilty and innocent alike. They are opposed to all principles based on humanity and justice."

TL;DR: Collective punishment is a war crime. I demand lava perms!

The problem with letting everyone decentperson having a nuke is that if we make a mistake with only one, it's all over anyhoo.

Holy shit, cobble monsters are a real thing!

How about have a plugin that checks where the lava is being placed. It it is too close to spawn cords, then it won't let you.

How far away was it poured from last season to wreck spawn?

I mean if I was asking keetrainchild to make something like this, what would be a safe distance?

It would have to be a bit far; at most 256 blocks away (height limit)
Looks like they used water and then placed a layer of lava over it or vice versa, and repeated that process over and over again

So like minimum of 500 blocks from spawn and always lower than 120 up?

2019-02-11T15:30:36+00:00

Most people make farms lower, so it might be easier to just check heigth. A simple check if the lava is being placed higher then a certain lvl, then it won't let you. Seems simple.

I am asking keetrainchild to make a plugin on GitHub and maybe server will use it.

No lava over lvl 100 should fix it.

Not bad ideas! Lava away from spawn, and max lvl! That seems to be a good solution.

Simpler solution would be to make spawn unaffected by lava, water, block placement

Or make lava and water combinations only possible a certain distance from spawn
